When Carson Dunlop announced that Horizon is sunsetting on December 15, 2026, it also named a successor. In its own words: "CARSON DUNLOP HAS SELECTED SPECTORA AS OUR RECOMMENDED PLATFORM GOING FORWARD." Spectora, in turn, built a Horizon migration site with a special offer, a one-click migration, and a deadline of its own.
That offer is real and it is decent. It is also easy to misread, because "one-click migration" sounds like it moves everything and "$55 a month" sounds like the price. This page lays out the offer exactly as Spectora publishes it, what the migration carries, what it does not, and what you pay once the intro period ends. Then, honestly, where Mach One Reports differs. Every number and quote here comes from Spectora's own migration pages and FAQ, checked September 2026. Prices can change, so confirm on their site before you decide.

The offer, in Spectora's own numbers
- Monthly: $55 a month for 6 months, against a regular $109 a month. Spectora's line: "You Save $324."
- Annual: $545 for the first year, against a regular $1,090 a year. Spectora's line: "You Save $545."
- After that: "After your intro period, standard pricing applies."
- Deadline: "Offer expires January 31, 2027."
Included free with the offer, per Spectora: the one-click migration, 1:1 onboarding (which they value at $299), an Express Onboarding Team, Spectora University, webinars, and a Canadian CAHPI SOP template. Spectora also says: "We do expect these to book out quickly, and capacity is limited."
The deadline that matters more than the offer
Spectora's offer ends January 31, 2027. Horizon's export tools stop on December 15, 2026. Those are six weeks apart, and the order matters.
Carson Dunlop's sunset page says it plainly: "Export tools available through December 15, 2026." And the Spectora migration FAQ says what happens after: "After this date, the data will no longer be accessible." Carson Dunlop then securely deletes the information.
So whatever you decide about Spectora, or anyone else, export a full copy of your Horizon data before December 15. The offer window is not your data window.
What one-click migration moves
Spectora's migration transfers, in its own list: company information, user and team member information, agent and brokerage information, client information, configuration settings, and "Your comment library, including the systems, categories, tasks, observations, defects, recommendations, limitations, and other content used to create your inspection reports."
That is a genuinely useful list. Your records, your contacts, and your library all come across. You are not retyping a client list.
What one-click migration leaves behind
Spectora's own FAQ lists what does not transfer: "Historical inspection reports, Historical work order data, Report PDF files, Inspection photos and attachments, Third-party integrations and connected services, Payment connections." Existing subscriptions do not carry over either.
Read that list twice. Your past reports, the PDFs you delivered, the photos inside them, and your work order history stay in Horizon. When Horizon closes on December 15, they are gone unless you exported them yourself. The Spectora FAQ agrees: "We strongly recommend exporting and retaining any records you may need for regulatory, insurance, legal, or business purposes."
The comment library question
Your library does move, but not untouched. Spectora states: "Your comments are converted from Horizon format to Spectora format." And then: "If you want to clean things up afterward, AI Comment Assist helps you rewrite and refine your language fast."
That is the honest heart of the difference between the two paths. On Spectora, your comments arrive converted, and the tool offers an AI to rewrite them. Some inspectors want that. If your wording is the thing you have spent years getting right, and you want it to land unchanged, that is the question to ask before you click.
What you pay after the intro period
Spectora's regular pricing, on the same offer page, is $109 a month or $1,090 a year. The intro price lasts 6 months on monthly or the first year on annual, then "standard pricing applies." When you compare offers, compare year two, not just month one.
The questions Horizon inspectors are actually asking
These are not our questions. They come from InterNACHI forum threads and Capterra reviews written by working inspectors in 2026, with a straight answer to each.
"Imagine being recommended a ~$150CAD/month software as you're starting out." (InterNACHI, Horizon shutdown thread, July 2026) Spectora is the most expensive tool in the category once the intro ends. Compare year two, not month one, and compare it against a flat rate.
Is the migration really one click? What actually moves? One click moves your records and converts your comments into Spectora's format. It does not move your past reports, PDFs, photos, or work orders. Those you export yourself before December 15.
"I dread starting over with a new report system." (InterNACHI) Starting over is what happens when a tool rebuilds your library into its own wording. An import that leaves your words alone is the opposite of starting over.
How long does the switch take? Spectora says one click plus onboarding. Ours: your library and template import during your free 30 days, and a real person checks it with you before your first inspection. Most of the time goes to you reading it, not to us building it.
I just renewed Horizon. Am I stuck? No. Horizon still retires December 15, 2026. Export everything, then choose. Both offers stay open past that date, ours to February 15, 2027.
"They will be placing advertisements for services that they choose on our client portal pages." (Capterra Spectora review, March 2026) Inspectors raised this in spring 2026 about Spectora's client-facing report page. We never put ads or vendor offers in front of your client.
"Lack of respect for the inspector by using our relationships to mine for data with no way to opt out." (Capterra Spectora review, April 2026) Your client list is yours. We do not sell it, mine it, or market to it.
"Second time in a week an agent and buyer can't see a section of my report but I do see it on my end." (InterNACHI, Spectora Issues, March 2026) It cannot happen on Mach One. Every finalized report exists as a PDF, and you choose what the client gets: a private link, the PDF, or both. They are the same report, so a section cannot show for you and be missing for them.
"The new update is horrible. Very glitchy and has added at least 20% more time." (Capterra Spectora review, April 2025) Updates on our side never change how you write. You talk, it matches, you review.
"I hate that everything is via chat bubbles and no easy way to just talk to someone in person." (Capterra Spectora review, February 2025) White glove on every plan means a person, on a call, during your move.
"I hate subscription based software models, with no way to stop paying the vendor." (InterNACHI) We are a subscription. You cancel inside the app, and your data exports any time in plain files, so stopping is always yours to do.
"The home inspection graveyard is full of deceased software reporting companies." (InterNACHI, February 2026) Horizon just proved it. The protection is not the vendor's age. It is whether your data leaves whenever you want it to. Ours does.
Where Mach One Reports differs
We are not the platform Carson Dunlop recommended, and we will not pretend otherwise. Here is what we do instead, plainly.

- A price you can see and keep. With proof of a Horizon subscription: 30 days free, then $79 a month or $799 a year. That is the rate, not an intro rate. No contract. Cancel inside your first 30 days and you have paid nothing.
- Export anytime. Your data and your clients stay yours. We never sell your data.
- On either rate, monthly or annual, a real person does the move with you one on one during your free 30 days: the library, the template, the check that it all looks right before your first inspection.
Our Horizon rescue rate runs through February 15, 2027. That is our deadline, deliberately set after Spectora's January 31. It is not Horizon's deadline. Export before December 15 no matter where you go.
Do this first, whichever way you go
1. Export a complete copy of your Horizon data now: reports as PDFs, photos, work orders, contacts, templates, and your comment library as its own file. Horizon's Export Centre is under the Profile section of your account. 2. Open the files outside Horizon and confirm they are complete. 3. Then choose. Spectora's offer is open until January 31, 2027. Ours is open until February 15, 2027. Neither one saves anything you did not export by December 15, 2026.
